• Mitsubishi Fuso stays proudly in the Mercedes-Benz CV stable

The decision by Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC) and Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) to end its manufacturing and marketing collaboration as from 1 July 2011 has been publicised in the press.

Due to the fact that our Fuso truck brand also carries the Mitsubishi marque, some confusion might have arisen as to the status of the Fuso range. As a valued customer, we would like to inform you that the brand remains at MBSA as an integral and successful part of the company’s commercial vehicles offering. This is due to the fact that the Fuso brand is owned by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and not by MMC.

The only vehicles affected by the MMC and MBSA split will be passenger car models, namely the Triton model line-up, Pajero, Pajero Sport, Outlander and the Lancer.

Fuso in South Africa is imported from MFTBC in Japan as Complete Knocked Down (CKD) kits by the MBSA Commercial Vehicles division and assembled locally at the company’s manufacturing plant in East London. MBSA Commercial Vehicles division is also responsible for the marketing of Fuso trucks, as well as sales and distribution through its extensive network of affiliated dealerships throughout the country.

We assure you that this status quo will remain in place, and we will continue to deliver to you the excellent service that you have come to expect from a Fuso dealership.
